Despite the fact that the legend of reggae style Lee Scratch Perry recently celebrated his 80th birthday, he continues to dye his hair and beard in acid colors, record new tracks and go around the world with concerts. On Saturday, this Jamaican musician and a friend of Bob Marley will sing for the Barcelona audience in Sala Apolo.
Most people associate reggae with rastamen, but Lee Perry’s work is not exactly for relaxing with a «joint». A perpetual rebel, he has been writing songs for over half a century, where he severely criticizes the permissiveness of politicians, corruption, and injustice in society. However, at his concert, the audience will not only imbue the protest spirit but also appreciate the show of the red-bearded grandfather, who often experiments with musical instruments and has such a blast that even the young ones could only dream of.
