What do you think was the influence of Roman art on Pablo Picasso? The Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya is ready to answer this burning question using 40 of his paintings. They will be placed within the permanent exposition next to the canvases that supposedly inspired the maestro. The exhibition is divided into three parts according to topics. The first one is connected with the image of the Virgin from Santa Maria church in the village of Gosol, where Picasso stayed in 1906. The second and third parts refer to symbols of the crucifix and skull, which found their reflection both in Roman art and in the artistic legacy of Picasso.
